Final day away win bodes well for the future

'Miners' finish the season on a high
Following an even opening spell the visitors went behind on the mid half mark when a long ball over the top was neatly lifted over the advancing Jack Scrivens by Sam Crumb. However, they were back on level terms when a defence splitting pass by Nathan Flynn
found Jamie Rustell who guided the ball past Shipway in the home goal. The young miners dominated possession in the second half and they got due reward for their efforts when Fin Haines ghosted in behind the defence to head in a Jack Biddescombe
cross in the 65th minute. The game was put beyond the reach of the home side when George Bendle
was on hand to smash a Jack Biddescombe
free kick into the net from close range with 15 minutes remaining.
A fine win to complete a difficult season and a comfortable 15th position finish is reward for a great effort by the management team of Brett Partner
and Nathan Farquarhson.
